Tuesday, January 6th, 2043: Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 28-year-old second baseman Jimmy Phillips to Chicago (A).
Phillips is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the White Sox have to win a playoff spot this year.
Phillips has a career .292 batting average and .361 on-base percentage. He has recorded 944 hits with 92 doubles, 11 triples, 161 homers, 552 RBIs and scored 514 runs since coming into the league.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2043: Feedback was positive in Kansas City today as the club announced an agreement with second baseman Joseph Howard, one of the league's marquee players.
In his career Howard is batting .303 with a total of 187 home runs.

Thursday, January 1st, 2043: Sportswriters questioned the wisdom of the freshly signed pact between José García and Chicago (A) today. The deal, set at a $42,550,000 price tag, will run for 5 years.
On the face of it, all is well, though insiders say there could be repercussions in the clubhouse if García starts running his mouth as he has been known to in the past.
Over his career García has 60 victories and 71 defeats with a 4.61 ERA. The 29-year-old hurler also has struck out 1098 batters in 1211.1 innings and surrendered 1231 hits.
