Sunday, July 31st, 2039: Few things are more hectic and tense in baseball. The CDL trading deadline is one of the more intrigue-laden events in all of the game. Fans love the speculation. GMs shun the drama. Players get queasy over the uncertainty. In any case, deals that will mold organizations for the foreseeable future will be made in the waning hours before today's deadline. Normal trades are allowed again once the playoffs are over and the offseason begins. |
 | Colorado 3B Pedro Arvajo Injured
Saturday, July 30th, 2039: Injuries are something every team has to deal with. That fact struck home for the Rockies when after today's game against the Phillies, the club found out they would be without the services of Pedro Arvajo for at least 6 days. After the game, his manager said of the incident, "You hate to lose anyone to injury. That's always a negative." Arvajo was injured earlier today running the bases and suffered an elbow contusion.
To date Arvajo has chalked up a .361 average with 34 home runs, driven in 99 runs and scored 81 times. |
 | Thibodeau Raps St. Louis for 5 Hits
Saturday, July 30th, 2039: No matter what St. Louis pitchers threw him today Jean-Thomas Thibodeau hit it. The 30-year-old Cincinnati catcher racked up 5 hits in 6 at-bats today against them at Busch Stadium and spearheaded the Reds to a 9-6 victory.
J. Thibodeau singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
Thibodeau on the season is batting .276 with 16 home runs. His totals include 51 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has played in 101 games. |
