Friday, July 12th, 2030: League Punishes Pair for Fighting
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Braves-Phillies game at Turner Field yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Atlanta's Jeronimo Martinez and Philadelphia's Arnold Bell.

Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 4 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.

In 69 games this year Martinez has posted a .224 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

During this season he has made 18 relief appearances, earning a 0-1 record with no saves. In 19 innings Bell has struck out 11 with a 4.26 ERA.
