 | Saturday, August 3rd, 2030: 4-Game Suspension for Payne California catcher Dan Payne was ejected in the game between the Angels and Royals for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Payne was incensed in the loss to Kansas City and was just as angry after the game. "These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Payne said in the locker room after the game. Now Payne must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Payne has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 4 games." Thus far this season in 99 games Payne is batting .242 with 15 home runs, 49 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 389 at-bats. |
