CDL Rookie League 09-28-2031 Home | | | Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 20th, 2031: Yi 5-5 for Bakersfield After the Bakersfield 16-8 victory over St. Louis and his 5-hit day third baseman Cho-yeong Yi told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 19-year-old player gained that distinction today at Dragonflys Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the St. Louis Titans.
The skipper of the Dragonflys spoke glowingly of Yi, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Cho-yeong did that to perfection today."
C. Yi hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th.
A look at his season totals shows Yi with 1 home run, .263 BA, .308 OBP, 16 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |  | Wednesday, September 10th, 2031: RF Joe Unknown Hurt The Henderson Trackers got some bad news when the team learned that Joe Unknown was likely to be out for 12 months after he injured himself making a defensive play in today's game against the Bakersfield Dragonflys. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a fractured skull. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Henderson manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Joe is back in action."
