| Breaking News | | Thursday, September 5th, 2030: Kouzmanoff 5-5 Against Detroit It was a good day for the Detroit Tigers as they dumped the Boston Red Sox 7-6 at Fenway Park. Despite the loss it was a remarkable day for Red Sox Kevin Kouzmanoff, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5-for-5 barrage.
The Boston third baseman told reporters afterward, "I have mixed emotions about this game. Getting 5 hits is really something special, but losing the ballgame spoils it to a certain extent. It's sort of like the feeling you get when your mother-in-law drives over a cliff in your new sports car."
Quizzed by the press corps about his personal hitting theories, he responded, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm 'not dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple... try not to overthink it. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then in a split second decide to try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
K. Kouzmanoff singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season Kouzmanoff has banged out 173 hits in 603 at-bats for a .287 average with 17 home runs. He is getting on base at a .330 pace and his totals also include 83 RBIs and 101 runs scored. | | Sunday, September 1st, 2030: Toronto No Match for Hosey Patrick Hosey of the Boston Red Sox put the clamps on the opposition and held the Toronto Blue Jays scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said the Toronto skipper after the 6-0 loss.
Hosey was on target most of the game and finished with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
Over the season Hosey has thrown 74 innings and dished out 52 strikeouts with a 6-2 mark and a 3.77 ERA. | | Monday, August 26th, 2030: AL Player of the Week Awarded All week long nobody could get Drew Stubbs out in the American League and that is the prime reason he was voted the Player of the Week.
The Boston right fielder took home the trophy by blasting 10 hits in 25 at-bats for a .400 batting average, driving in 11 runs and scoring 7 times.
Thus far in 2030 Stubbs is hitting .268 with 35 home runs, 97 RBIs, 87 runs scored and has compiled a .317 OBP. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | SS Darryl Brooks | torn rotator cuff muscle | 4 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 92-70, .568 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 54-27, .667 PCT | | Record on the road | 38-43, .469 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-8, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 16-19, .457 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 20-21, .488 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 72-49, .595 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in May | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in June | 18-7, .720 PCT | | Record in July | 21-8, .724 PCT | | Record in August | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in September | 11-12, .478 PCT |
