| Breaking News | | Tuesday, August 20th, 2030: Free-for-All Costs Alston and Smith 7-Game Suspensions There was a mass free-for-all yesterday at Yankee Stadium. Both dugouts emptied when New York (A)'s Reginald Alston and Cleveland's Vincent Smith scuffled with one another after some heated words.
In an official statement today, the league commissioner suspended both parties for 7 games.
This season Alston is hitting .305 with 150 hits, 36 home runs, 110 RBIs, scored 79 runs and played in 124 games.
In season stats Smith shows a 12-7 record in 28 games, 188.2 innings, 123 strikeouts and a 2.81 ERA. | | Sunday, July 28th, 2030: Neale Pitches Gem against Cleveland Goose eggs were the order of the day for Cleveland as William Neale shut out the Indians 4-0 at New Comiskey Park. The Chicago (A) pitcher struck out 4 and walked 1 while allowing 1 hit.
In the 2030 season Neale has recorded a 10-7 mark. In 23 starts he has fanned 110 batters in 149.1 innings with a 4.52 ERA. | | Sunday, July 21st, 2030: 5-5 Day for Lorentz It was a hits blitz for Roy Lorentz at Jacobs Field. The Cleveland Indians right fielder tore into Detroit for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Indians to a 17-5 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Tigers bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Lorentz, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
R. Lorentz walked in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off M. Pabtojas in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off N. Cameron in the 9th.
This season Lorentz has hit 8 home runs and posted a .285 batting average. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 83-79, .512 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 9.0 GB | | Record at home | 45-36, .556 PCT | | Record on the road | 38-43, .469 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-6, .538 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 24-22, .522 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 21-25, .457 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 62-54, .534 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 20-8, .714 PCT | | Record in May | 12-17, .414 PCT | | Record in June | 13-12, .520 PCT | | Record in July | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in August | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in September | 12-11, .522 PCT |
