Friday, September 13th, 2030: Romero Sparkles, Blanks Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Pirates were almost helpless today in their 4-0 loss to Houston hurler Enrique Romero. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 3-hit shutout.

The Pittsburgh manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Romero. He kept us off balance all night."

Romero said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."

He had 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.

On his stats sheet this season Romero shows a 17-8 record, 31 starts, 202.2 innings, 189 strikeouts and a 2.84 ERA.
Sunday, July 21st, 2030: Star C Signs Extension with Houston
Media analysts hailed Houston's signing of Aaron King, one of Cooperstown Diamond Legends's brightest stars, as a pivotal move.

While the deal is certain to raise a few eyebrows, King is expected to earn every bit of the $85,900,000 promised him over 5 years.

Currently King is hitting .331 and has collected 18 home runs, 65 RBIs and scored 56 times, while playing in 90 games.
Sunday, July 7th, 2030: Hicks Sidelined for 1-2 Weeks
A blow for Marcus Hicks today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with a tight back muscle. Hicks suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Houston Astros are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Hicks's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.

This season Hicks has been credited with 3 saves. In 25 relief appearances and 28.1 innings he has a 1-1 won-lost mark, a 1.91 ERA and 21 strikeouts.
