Whatever it was, it provided some surprising power as the Colorado second baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Coors Field. His power surge sparked the Rockies to a 16-1 victory over the Reds.
He told BNN reporters, "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you got a shot at a homer. I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day he went 4 for 4, scored 4 times, drove in 6 and put his name in the league record book.
M. Tolbert hit a two-run home run off D. Duvall in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off K. Heath in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off D. Brandon in the 8th.
Thus far in 2030 Tolbert is batting .303 with 56 home runs, 160 RBIs and 107 runs scored. |  | Friday, August 23rd, 2030: Hit #3000 for Padres Sanchez Padres third baseman Freddy Sanchez went 1-for-1 and reached the 3000-hit milestone yesterday, but San Diego still lost the game 6-5 to the Cincinnati Reds.
Sanchez has a career .299 batting average and .344 on-base percentage. He has recorded 3000 hits with 500 doubles, 36 triples, 426 homers, 1657 RBIs and scored 1395 runs since coming into the league. |  | Sunday, August 18th, 2030: Lind Raps 300th Roundtripper The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-0 yesterday in a game that featured Adam Lind's 300th career home run.
In the clubhouse, the Cardinals right fielder spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"
On his historic day, Lind banged out 2 hits in 5 at-bats and scored 1 run with 2 RBI.
