| Breaking News | | Monday, September 23rd, 2030: NL's Star Player Named At the age of 26, Matt Tolbert might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Colorado second baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the National League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 7 games.
In 2030 Tolbert is hitting .306 with 186 hits, 57 home runs, 161 RBIs, .343 OBP and has scored 109 runs. | | Wednesday, September 18th, 2030: Tolbert Rocks Reds for 3 HRs What did Matt Tolbert eat for breakfast prior to his game against Cincinnati? Whatever it was, it provided some surprising power as the Colorado second baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Coors Field. His power surge sparked the Rockies to a 16-1 victory over the Reds.
He told BNN reporters, "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you got a shot at a homer. I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day he went 4 for 4, scored 4 times, drove in 6 and put his name in the league record book.
M. Tolbert hit a two-run home run off D. Duvall in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off K. Heath in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off D. Brandon in the 8th.
Thus far in 2030 Tolbert is batting .303 with 56 home runs, 160 RBIs and 107 runs scored. | | Thursday, September 12th, 2030: Players Suspended in Cardinals-Rockies Donnybrook Jesse Garber of the St. Louis Cardinals was not happy with Manolo Acevedo and his frustration showed when he went after the Colorado player during yesterday's game at Busch Stadium. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Garber and Acevedo were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game.
Both players were suspended 11 games by the league office as a result of their tussle.
"It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Garber commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings."
In 144 games this season Garber has compiled a .306 batting average with 160 hits and 12 home runs. He has also scored 83 times and knocked in 81 runs.
So far this season Acevedo has 15 wins and 10 losses and a 4.58 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 95-67, .586 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 3.0 GB | | Record at home | 56-25, .691 PCT | | Record on the road | 39-42, .481 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-3, .571 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 20-19, .513 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 22-22, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 73-45, .619 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in May | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in June | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in July | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in August | 19-9, .679 PCT | | Record in September | 16-7, .696 PCT |
