Tuesday, October 1st, 2030: Pirates, Veteran Morales Agree to Terms
Team officials triumphantly announced that the Pirates and superstar first baseman Kendry Morales have closed a deal that keeps the 37-year-old in a Pittsburgh uniform for another 2 years.

Morales will earn $36,200,000 as part of the settlement.

For the year Morales is batting .264 with 148 hits and 36 home runs. He has scored 122 times and driven in 87.
Friday, September 13th, 2030: Romero Sparkles, Blanks Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Pirates were almost helpless today in their 4-0 loss to Houston hurler Enrique Romero. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 3-hit shutout.

The Pittsburgh manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Romero. He kept us off balance all night."

Romero said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."

He had 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.

On his stats sheet this season Romero shows a 17-8 record, 31 starts, 202.2 innings, 189 strikeouts and a 2.84 ERA.
Wednesday, July 31st, 2030: Colorado, Pittsburgh Swap Players
The Rockies and Pirates confirmed this afternoon that a trade had been agreed upon. In the deal, Colorado will get 32-year old right fielder Travis Snider, while Pittsburgh will receive a 1st round draft pick, a 2nd round draft pick and a 4th round draft pick.

In 97 games this season Snider has compiled a .278 batting average with 99 hits and 33 home runs. He has also scored 63 times and knocked in 83 runs.
