| Breaking News | | Tuesday, September 24th, 2030: Hansen Tops St. Louis for 250th Win What would you do after you had just won your 250th game? Run around Pro Player Stadium doing cartwheels, jumping for joy and waving to the crowd? Well, maybe you and I would do that, but not Craig Hansen -- that's not his way.
After he notched number 250, the 36-year-old Florida hurler spoke to the press like he always has -- in a soft, quiet voice. He wasn't doing any cartwheels or even anything resembling a jump for joy. "Obviously it feels very good," Hansen commented. "To win this many games, you've got to have a lot of help."
Hansen got his milestone victory by beating the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2. He held them to 7 hits in 8 innings and rung up 3 strikeouts with no walks.
After sharing his thoughts with the press, he went to the clubhouse. There he was greeted by the guys who had helped him get #250. His teammates showered him with champagne and then gave him a rousing round of applause. That got to him -- for the first time today, Hansen's face broke into a big smile.
Lifetime Hansen has registered a 250-146 record with a 3.23 ERA. | | Monday, September 16th, 2030: $920,000 Lands MR Walker for Marlins Feedback was positive in Florida today as the club announced an agreement with reliever Kyle Walker, one of the league's marquee players.
So far this season Walker has 1 save in 48 relief appearances with a 4-2 record and 2.83 ERA. | | Saturday, September 7th, 2030: Marlins Chambers Will Miss Season Florida second baseman Jeff Chambers could miss the remainder of the season because of a strained rib muscle. He exited yesterday's Atlanta game after injuring himself while throwing the ball. The original diagnosis said Chambers would be out 3 weeks. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.
"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
This year Chambers has 18 home runs and a .337 batting average. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 96-66, .593 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 45-36, .556 PCT | | Record on the road | 51-30, .630 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-4, .667 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 29-17, .630 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 27-18, .600 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 69-48, .590 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 20-8, .714 PCT | | Record in May | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in June | 16-9, .640 PCT | | Record in July | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in August | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in September | 14-9, .609 PCT |
