Angel Pagan hit a historic home run today -- career blast number 300. "I am happy to be in such elite company. It has been quite a ride so far," Pagan said after the game.
The Rangers left fielder went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 runs batted in as the Texas Rangers won 11-2 over the Kansas City Royals.
His career numbers show Pagan is hitting .313 with a total of 301 home runs.

 | Sunday, September 1st, 2030: AL Rookie Star Shines
In August Texas first baseman Luis Cabrera was named Rookie of the Month in the American League.
Last month Cabrera posted a .287 average with 33 hits, 16 home runs and 36 RBIs.
This season-to-date Cabrera has 38 home runs and a .292 batting average.

Willie Hillman of the California Angels was lights out in a 4-hit whitewash of the Texas Rangers.
He told BNN reporters, "I had my good stuff and it went where I wanted it to go."
He registered 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in shutting out Texas 4-0.
On his stats sheet this season Hillman shows a 6-17 record, 28 starts, 166.2 innings, 51 strikeouts and a 5.02 ERA.
