Today the Bees downed the Royals 15-3 as José Saldaña sprayed hits all over Bees Ballpark in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
The Salt Lake City right fielder said to reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them."
J. Saldaña singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off T. Cotton in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
In 67 games Saldaña is hitting .297 this season for the Bees with 80 hits, 4 home runs, 33 RBIs, 24 walks, .358 OBP and has scored 40 runs.

So far in his young career, Bill Berry has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the CDL International League East in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 22-year-old Omaha Royals center fielder hit at a torrid .500 clip as he collected 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
This season Berry is batting at a .295 clip with 12 home runs and 61 RBIs.

In an outstanding outing, Sergio González tamed Toledo on a 1-hit shutout. The Omaha hurler went the distance, finishing with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 4-0 win.
"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Toledo manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
This season González has fanned 165 in 164.2 innings and collected a 11-9 record with a 3.17 ERA.
